24. Main Task: Post Production Feedback

For my post production feedback, I sent my music magazine to my target audience from both BBM and Facebook, I did this as these are they ways my target audiences socialises. The images below are some print screens of what my audiences have send about my music magazine. I will give a brief overall of what they said about each piece.

Front Cover:
Strengths:
They really liked the quality of my images and that I had a very neat layout, they also said how my front cover had a very good colour scheme as it suited the genre and kept the house-style throughout all three pieces. The fact that I designed the 'play button' my self they think I did a very good job by creating this. Another strength they found in my front cover was that my cover-line was neatly presented as I included all my front cover conventions too.

Weaknesses:
There was not a lot of weaknesses for my front cover as most of them said it looked great, however, one person pointed out how my main cover line was not aligned to the right hand side probably and this made it look odd.

Contents Page:
Strengths:
They found my contents page was also a very strong piece. They said how they liked the layout of my contents page and it was just perfect it did not look too empty or too busy. They liked how I kept the house-style through both my front cover and contents page. They said it has interesting qualities and everything is lined up neatly.

Weaknesses:
There was not much weaknesses for my contents page either, but one person said that I could used more bright colours to make it eye catching for example instead of using the yellow/green colour for my cover-lines I could of used red.

Double Page Spread
Strengths:
The strengths for my double page spread was similar to my front cover. They like the quality of the images, and easy to read. They think that the quote I used look very good and eye-catching, the title used was very good as it suited the genre and the colour scheme shows that there was consistency throughout all three pieces and finally the paragraphs looked neat and well presented.

Weaknesses:
I think my double page spread had the most weaknesses out of all my three pieces. My target audience said that the drop capital was not presented properly as it look odd in the paragraph, they also thought that the three images used at the bottom of my double page was too small and the article was quite boring they think the topic should of been something more interesting.

Evaluation:

If I had a chance to re-do my music magazine, I would take my audience advice in what they liked and disliked and change it to how they feel looks better. I think this time I would use more bright colours, and make my main subject use different props such as wearing a snap back (cap). I really liked the layout of my front cover so I'll probably keep the same layout but use different fonts to make it stand out more. Use a different layout for my contents page as I think my one looked very dull. In my double page I would like the change the background of my main subject to make it more eye-catching to my target audience and make my article more interesting for example I could do 'quick quiz' or use interesting facts.

22. Main Task: Double Page Spread FINAL

23. Main Task: Different Stages of Music Magazine.

These are the improvements given by my media class, so as to be improving my final pieces I have made these improvements.

Front Cover

Stage 1:
This was the first try when I started my front cover, I had my template all ready. But I didn't like the colour scheme.

Stage 2:

On my second lesson, I added a few more coverlines, and because I didn't like the colour scheme I changed it to another colour. After this I changed the 'Adele' cover-line.

Contents Page:

Stage 1:
This was the first try of me doing my contents page, I had a ready template to get me started. I added the same title but in a smaller version to my contents page, and I placed the images I wanted to use, adding the page numbers.

Stage 2:
Next lesson, I did a lot more of work by adding all my cover-lines and editors note. After this I changed one of the contents page's picture as their was twice of the same person with different head shapes it look a bit odd. I then had to change the mini version of the front cover magazine because I had made some changes to it.

Double Page Spread:

Stage 1:
In this lesson, I was did quite a lot as I wrote up my interview, placed the image and downloaded a font using dafont.com.

Stage 2:

In the next lesson, I finished off the interview and shorten down the introduction as it look to long and squashed together. I thought of adding more picture as it would look more interesting to read. I also added a quote from her.

21. Main Task: Contents Page FINAL

20. Main Task: Front Cover FINAL

19. Main Task: Unmanipulated Photos

Front Cover:

This is the photograph I have chosen, so I can use it for the front cover of my music magazine. This photograph has a powerful pose that shows all the attitude through her NVC. The costume also represents the genre of hip hop/rnb as I found out through my audience research that my target audience prefers wearing addidas/nike. I think this is a good picture as there is enough space to be putting the mast head and cover lines.

Double Page
Spread:

I think this is a very strong image to use of my double page, the subject is placed on the left of the photograph I have done this on purpose so there would be lots of space for the columns of writing. The costume of my subject contrast really well in the black background.

Contents Page:

I have chosen to use these three pictures for my contents page, my subjects being from different ethnic backgrounds show what kind of people will listen to hip hop/rnb genre. These three photographs has a 'good look' and makes it look friendly with all of my subjects smiling with an straight eye contact.

Pictures I will not use:

I will not being using these photographs because I don't think they are good. The first photograph does not have enough space, because if I used this for my double page spread there would not be enough space for the writing. I'm not using the second photograph either because the two subjects have to much gap between them one of the subject has its eyes closed and the you can't see the other subjects face; which makes these pictures look unprofessional.

17. Main Task: Mood Board

This mood board has all the things that appeal to my target audience. I know these things will appeal to my target audience because during my planning and research stage I had a lot of research and information about my target audience such as the ways they socialies and what is within their genre/culture.
And I found that they mostly socalise through Facebook and BBM, but most of them would own social networking sites suchs as Twitter, Tumblr & YouTube.
I also found that my target audience will wear things such as; girls- leggings and hoodies, boys- tracksuit and hoodies. They love wearing brands such as Vans, Converse, Nike and Addidas these are their main brands, wearing brands within their friends is the most important thing to them as they like looking good. Most people within the hip-hop/rnb dance genre would wear snap-backs (cap) boys would usually wear this prop.
Most of the boys own a psp, xbox or playstation, whereas nearly all of the girls and boys would own a Blackberry or an Iphone.
I choose to use the colour Purple as I think its the best colour that suits this genre as this colour also appeals to both girls and boys so it would attract both genders.

18. Main Task: FC, CP, DPS Mock Ups
